Makrilies

This tiny little hamlet on Samothrace takes it's name (it means long olive or olive tree) from the unique type of olive tree which is the main cultivation of this area. The houses are dispersed amongst the olive trees and therefore difficult to make out. For this reason we are showing you a photograph of the old cafe at Makrilies.
