Spoon sweets from Kamariotissa

Angeliki is a traditional confectioner's workshop in Kamariotissa, a few steps from the port, and the best place on the island to stock up on glyka tou koutaliou, the Greek fruit preserves served on a spoon with coffee.

Look for praousti, a small yellow-orange wild plum that grows on Samothraki and is preserved in syrup, alongside cherry, walnut, fig and pumpkin. There are also cakes and traditional pastries to eat now.

Good to know

  • In Kamariotissa, near the port: easy to visit before the ferry home
  • Jars travel well as gifts
