Car and scooter hire at the port
Kyrkos Rent a Car (also written Kirkos) has its office on the Kamariotissa seafront, directly across from where the ferries dock, so you can pick up a car as soon as you arrive. Along with cars it rents scooters, a cheap and easy way to get around the island in summer.
Good to know
- Samothraki has one petrol station, about 800 metres from Kamariotissa on the road to Chora.
- A small car is easier in the narrow village streets; some dirt roads need a car with more clearance.
- Drive slowly: goats, tortoises and walkers share the roads, especially at night near Therma.
- In July and August cars on the island run out, so book ahead.
