Mezedes with a view over Chora
Taverna Ouzeri 1900 sits on Nikolaos Rigopoulos Square, on the main cobbled lane that climbs through Chora. Its outdoor terrace looks across the roofs of the village and down to the sea, which makes it one of the classic places for dinner in the island's capital.
The menu is a long list of Greek dishes and small plates for sharing, with ouzo and tsipouro to go with them. It is one of the busiest tavernas on the island, so in July and August come early or book.
Good to know
- In the centre of Chora, a short walk from the castle and the Folklore Museum
- Terrace seating with views to the sea
- Busy in high season: book ahead for groups
